ScrapPlezier Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends

I am up on the ScrapPlezier blog today with my Kaisercraft reveal

I have used papers from Kaisercraft Blue Bay collection to create all the layers in the layout.  On the 2 smaller horizontal layers I have torn, then rolled the edges to give dimension.  I layered papers from the 6x6 paper pack for the photo layers.  The top layer is pop dotted to give dimension.  I have added some doilies, top and bottom, and under the photo.  The wood veneer butterfly and love infinity symbol are both from the Kaisercraft Indigo Skies collection.  The flower diecuts were picked up from my local $2 shop.  The phrase strips are from an Australia manufacturer, Flutterby Designs.  I finished the layout with some splatters using Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray

Scrap Plezier Moodboard Reveal

Hello there Scrappy Friends

It is the monthly Moodboard reveal at Scrap Plezier today, and May's moodboard is divine.

Image may contain: 1 person, text

Dont you agree?

Anyhoo....here is my take on it - using Kaisercraft of course :)

I love Kaisercraft Collectibles diecuts – they are so very versatile and match collections other than the one they were produced for.

For this layout, I used a piece of Kaisercraft Indigo Skies as the base.  I gesso’ed the centre of the paper so I could apply some wet mediums.  After the gesso was dry I took a Kaisercraft stencil and used white texture paste through it.  When that was dry I coloured the design with Prima Metallic Accents semi watercolour paints.  After that dried I smooched on some Glimmermist in Crème de Chocolat and Mr Hueys Colour Mist in Powder Blue.  Again, after that was dry I did some stamping with a Kaisercraft Stamp – Vintage Fence and Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.

Finally I could start of the paper part of my layout.  I cut down 3 sheets of paper from the Kaisercraft 6.5 x 6.5 paper pads – Blue Bay and Wildflower.  I cut some sections from Scrapmatts Hexagon Mesh chipboard and coloured them with Pinecone VersaColour.  I also inked all pieces of patterned paper, including the base piece in Pinecone.  I stuck the photo, papers and chipboard down and then grabbed my collection of Collectibles, lol.  This is where the versatility comes in – I used diecuts from 3 other collections – Ubud Dreams, Sea Breeze, and Time Machine.  I used one of the diecuts as my title, added some hexagon brads, and finally some Kaisercraft Pearls.

I would love to see what you create with this awesome moodboard.

Creative Inspiration NSD Mini Crop

Hello Scrappy Friends

The National Scrapbook Day Mini Crop is in full swing at Creative Inspiration, and boy have the DT come up with some awesome challenges for you all.

My challenge to you all is to create a project using absolutely no patterned paper.

I have used some new Lindy's Magical Shakers in Bavarian Blue, Lederhausen Laurel, and Octoberfest Orange on the background, after applying a coat of white gesso, and then spraying with water.  Once I was happy with the placement and intensity of the magicals, I allowed the background to dry overnight before applying a Kaisercraft stencil with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Black Ash.  Once that was dry I took a Creative Expressions stamp from the Arty Background stamp set and using Hero Arts India Ink in Black I stamped around where I wanted to place my photo. Finally I sprayed and splattered with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Tinsel. Once everything was dry I added some twine I had coloured with the Heidi Swapp, then mounted my photo on some music note tissue paper that came wrapped around a bunch of flowers, and placed it in position with some foam mounts.  I finished off by adding various bits and bobs from my stash.

Scrap Plezier Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends

I am up on the Scrap Plezier blog with a Kaisercraft reveal today.

This is actually one of my most favourite layouts of late!!  It came together so very easily and I used the new Indigo Skies collection.  Love that the collection is blue, and I only have boys to scrap!!

I went for a minimal look with lots of white space and ended up with a monochromatic layout with the black and white photo.  I used some Distress Ink in Blueprint and mixed it with water, and using a makeup sponge, I dabbed it around all four sides of the white cardstock background.  I then smooched some on acetate and added it to the background.  I cut a banner shape from one of the patterned papers and tore one of the other pieces in half and used both sides.   I added 2 word strips, as well as some butterflies, and 2 word blocks from the Die cut pack as well as the sticker sheet.  I finished off with some of the wood veneer from the pack that is part of the collection.  I really wanted to add another colour to the layout but couldn’t decide which one to use, so ended up using some black sequins.  I finished off by outlining the edges of the cardstock with a black Sharpie pen and used the same Sharpie for my journalling.  What do you think??
